BAM! POW! THWACK!

So a four year old walks into a bar....

Just kidding!

Not really, he actually walked into a bar...

at the park...

TWICE!

Every time Zander grows he has to re-learn about the space around him. It's hard to explain but it's as if he is unaware of anything above eye level unless he is looking up and actually sees it.  It's really bad when he wears a baseball hat in fact both times he walked into a beam at the park he was wearing one and couldn't see the approaching beam above the brim.

It's like something out of a dumb comedy.  You could hear the loud thud from across the playground and on one hand the visual was funny but on the other hand as a mom you're freaking out because how many blows to the head can one person take?  You hear all the time how a person hits their head once and then dies 2 days later from it and here's my boy, "Captain Steel Head".

We're talking:
2 major tumbles down the stairs (not on my watch.... just saying),

1 backwards slide off the couch,

1 wooden chair mishap,

Countless Table Corners,

4 or 5 good whacks running too close to the wall when rounding the corner,

2 slow motion movie sequences with him looking to the side while running only to look forward right as a pole or tree appears while I do my best Bionic Woman-
(Yes another reference to show how old and uncool I am, Bionic Woman & the 6 Million Dollar Man... Look it up young'ins, oh and you may as well check out Buck Rogers too for future reference)
- anyway back to my desperate sprint across the playground yelling, "ZZZZZZZAAAAAANNNNDDDEEERRRRR WAAAAATTTCCCHHH ... THUD... Out.... (sigh, Crap)!" -reaching out with my hand as if I'm suddenly Inspector Gadget "Go Go Magic Arm"?

2 heart breaking aforementioned park beam incidents,

Oh and can't forget the year and a half of self headbanging into everything

Now with this latest growth spurt, well, let's just say that door knobs are currently not his friend.

Usually parents rush to take their children to a Neurologist when they find out that their child may have an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) because it is considered a Neurological disorder.  I have to be honest after all those knocks; I'm afraid the Neurologist would think we beat the poor kid or worse that we'll find out some of those early bumps actually contributed to his condition.  Could you imagine?  Well here's hoping that Zander does not end up being one of the 40% of children with an ASD that suffers from seizures.

For now he seems to be doing just fine, although with pic's like this, you almost have to wonder don't ya? :)

"STANK FACE!" - this picture cracks me up!
